Senior researcher position combined with a clinical professorship in physiotherapy
A clinical position as senior researcher at Copenhagen University Hospital - North Zealand is open for appointment from as soon as possible. The position is combined with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor of physiotherapy with special focus on physical activity at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the clinical position.
About the hospital
Copenhagen University Hospital - North Zealand is one of four acute hospitals in the Capital Region and delivers services for approximately 323,000 citizens of North Zealand. It includes hospitals in Frederikssund and Hillerød, along with the Healthcare Centre in Helsingør, and comes under the overall healthcare provision of the Capital Region of Denmark.
At Copenhagen University Hospital – North Zealand, the research is organized in five cross disciplinary research clusters. The clusters have focus on clinical research with impact on the treatment, care, and diagnostics of frequent diseases among the general population. The research is often performed across professions, medical specialties, and treatment sectors. The five research clusters have several ongoing studies that the applicant may participate in. Some of the ongoing studies include new innovational approaches in the treatment and care and they are part of the preparation to move into a new hospital in Favrholm, Hillerød in 2026.
Clinical functions and focus areas of the position
The clinical function in the position is related to development and improvement of physiotherapy and exercise training to the patients on the hospital. The focus area of the clinical function will also be related to the researcher’s research expertise in a combination with the department’s clinical challenges and wishes of development.
Research and teaching
With the new position as senior researcher and clinical professor of physiotherapy, the Copenhagen University Hospital - North Zealand wishes to strengthen leadership in clinical research and teaching.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be a board-certified registered physiotherapist and have a PhD degree or equivalent qualifications
- Experiences in quantitative research methods
- Experience within research in physical activity and exercise training to persons with chronic diseases, among them chronic kidney disease
- Strong collaborative skills
- Good communication end presenter skills
- Experienced researcher
Conditions
In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the clinical position) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as senior researchers at Copenhagen University Hospital – North Zealand.
Salary and conditions of employment as a senior researcher are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Physiotherapist Organization and between the Capital Region and University of Copenhagen.
As clinical professor at least 50% of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g., research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of the Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the relevant head of Department on the hospital. Additional support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the head of the Department of Physiotherapy, Copenhagen University Hospital - North Zealand.
